Duplication

Duplication simply means to copy. Imagine that you are into production, you produce one item and you have the ability to turn it into 2, 10, 100, 1000, even millions of copies of the same item without having to go through the entire process of production you went through initially to produce the first copy.
Duplication makes it possible for you to do that with the use of modern technologies. Duplication has a lot of advantages:
1. The stress  and cost of production is drastically reduced.
2. Work done could be reused and could be made into as many copies as you want. Thus, you can continue to reap the benefit of one work for years after it was done.
3. You don't have to do everything alone, you can delegate responsibility.
Duplication works perfectly well with digital products (i.e.soft wares) in form of text, photos, audios and videos etc. Example, music audios and videos, movies, e-books, applications etc.
Some products initially stored in digital form can be made into physical form by printing and can also be duplicated. Example, books, bill boards, calendars, flyers, complementary cards etc.
There are some products and services that can not be duplicated. You have to go through the same process of producing every single item or of providing the service manually. Example dress making, furniture, massage etc. However, there are some methods and procedures that could be employed to ease the mass  production of such products and mass provision of such services. These include:
1.  Use of large and trained labour force. If you are the technical person, you can duplicate yourself by training others to assist you.
2. Use of specialized machines
3. Division of labour
4. Specialization
5. Teamwork.

                                                      Division Of Labour
This is a system whereby a production is broken into stages such that each stage is handled by an individual or a group. For example, if you visit a building site where casting is done, you will see some labourers putting sand in the mixer, some putting concrete and others, water. You will also see the mixer operator doing nothing else but to operate the mixer. After  the mixing, the labourers pack the mixture to the masons who do the casting. You can see here , the process of casting broken into different stages and handled by different people before the finished product. This makes the work easy and efficient.

                                                         Specialization
This is a situation whereby a firm or an individual focus on the production of a single or a few commodities in which he knows how to do best or in which he has a comparable advantage. It is also a situation whereby an individual concentrates his effort on a particular stage or process of production, as you can see in the example above. As the person concentrates his effort on one thing all the time, his skill in the job is enhanced, and he can do it faster, better and more efficiently. Division of labour and specialization help to increase productivity. It is therefore, easier, cheaper and more efficient to work in cooperation with other people than to work alone. It reduces wastage of time, energy and resources.

                                                             Teamwork
This is another very efficient method of accomplishing a task or achieving common goal. It is mainly used when people are working together as a group. In teamwork, everyone in the group knows the task on hand to be accomplished. And everyone has one thing in mind --- to accomplish it. So, all cooperatively bend their efforts toward accomplishing it. Everyone in the group is made to understand the seriousness or the urgency of the task at hand. Hence, they are all conscious of the need to accomplish it and so each member of the group is willing to do everything he can to ensure that the group succeeds. This method is especially helpful when people want to accomplish a task within a stipulated time or in an urgent situation.
Unlike in specialization or division of labour where some people could be idle at some points because the work left is not their area of specialization or has not been assigned to them, here, everyone knows virtually everything to be done and they quickly fill in the gap when there is a need. Even if they do not have expert knowledge in all respect, but the teamwork spirit makes them to willingly assist the experts to hasten up the work. Example of this type of cooperation is team sports like football, basketball etc. As well as factory workers who have a specific daily, weekly or monthly targets to meet.

Wealth Creation --- The Apprenticeship And Settlement Method

This is a system whereby an entrepreneur brings a person (usually a younger person) to stay with him and help him create wealth for a specified period of time (about four to seven or even ten years in some instances) after which part of the wealth he has helped to create is given to him to start his own business. The relationship here is a master / servant relationship. The master imparts to the servant knowledge of the trade, discipline and code of conduct while the servant help the master in everything he does in the business, in the home and outside the home. This method of wealth creation is a symbiotic relationship. It is beneficial to both the master and the servant.
The master benefit in that he does not have to pay for the services of the servant immediately. It is a deferred payment method which enables the master to use all the wealth created during that period to grow his business, grab opportunities and record significant achievement before the time for the settlement arrives.
To the servant, the gain is enormous too. When he came, likely he was crude, undisciplined, unskilled, inexperienced, and empty. By the time he is leaving, he is more civil, disciplined, and has gained enough experience to manage his own business. Moreover, he now has the skill and capital needed to earn a living. This method of wealth creation practiced largely by the Igbo ethnic group of south eastern Nigeria is one of the best method of circulating wealth among the population. It helps to alleviate poverty as children from poor backgrounds are given opportunity to serve the rich. Upon their settlement, these young people now have a means of livelihood and the ability to help their poor parents and their siblings as well. Some even sponsor their siblings’ education up to professional level. This system is particularly helpful if the apprentice has gotten at least the basic education before serving his master. Although this method works well with trading, it can be applied in any vocation, but the Igbos are mainly traders.
However, there is another type of apprenticeship that is without settlement. Here, the apprentice pays for the training he receives. At the end of the apprenticeship, all he has is the skill he has acquired which he now uses to provide services and create wealth for himself. Examples of this type of apprenticeship include tailoring, hair dressing, carpentry, welding etc.

Transportation

Transportation, though challenging, is another way of making a living. Young people commonly use it as their first means of making a living because it does not require much formal education. Often just the training required to qualify as a driver and having vehicle to drive. Then you are good to go. Driving in itself is fun to young people. They also like it because it exposes them to the nooks and crannies of their environment.
Beyond driving, though, transportation is very important because it is the means by which people move themselves as well as goods and services from one place to another. Transportation is indispensable because there is always need for people to move from one place to another. And all the economic activities that sustain us on this planet cannot take place without transportation. As long as there is life, there will always be transportation. There are always people in need of transportation services. People who commute to work daily. Some people who want to go somewhere around town and others who need to travel. There are farmers who need vehicle to evacuate their agricultural products, traders who need to move their goods, tourist and many others who need transportation service for various purposes. It is really a huge market .You can take to providing transportation services and get rewarded for your effort.

Marketing / Advertising

Some people are not in a position to produce anything. That doesn't mean that they are useless. In fact, they can satisfy a very important need of society. They can serve as middle men, helping goods to move from the producer to the final consumer and services from service providers to consumers. All goods are produced for  consumption. So producers and service providers need consumers. Consumers, on the other hand, need the goods and services, but they may not know where the producers and service providers or their goods and services are. It is the marketer who establishes the link between  the producers/ service providers and the consumers. He finds out what goods is available and where and  informs the consumer about it. He may do so through word of mouth or by any other advertising medium or platform, either online or offline. He earns commission for rendering such a service. He is paid by the company or the person with whom he is affiliated, either the producer, service provider, the supplier or the trader who has the goods in his shop or even the consumer who gets a product through  the effort of the marketer.
So, look out; what are consumers looking for? Lead them to the supplier or service provider and get rewarded for your effort.

Agriculture / Agri-business

This captures all activities and processes involved in the agricultural value chain --- Crop and livestock production, processing as well as marketing of agricultural products and associated services like marketing and application of agro-chemicals.
  AGRO-PROCESSING
This refers to the treatment of raw materials to transform them into finished or semi finished goods thereby making them more valuable or more useful. Agro-processing ( adding value to agricultural products) is a major means of income generation. You can choose a product in which you have a comparable advantage in its processing. Maybe you have the skill in processing a particular product or you are located close to the source of raw material. For example, if you know how to process cassava into garri and you are staying close to where cassava is cultivated or sold, then you may decide to go into garri production.
