How To Become An Expert

An expert is a person who has an in-dept knowledge or skill in a certain field through education or practice. Becoming an expert requires going through a very important process of training, practice and enhancement. If you learn something and you don't practice it, your proficiency in it is likely to drop. So practice regularly, at least every week. Try every new thing you see or what you have not done before, try it, don't just assume that you can do it. You might just discover that you were wrong in assuming. The experience you gain through practice over time helps you to improve. So what area in life do you want to become an expert in? Go and get the training required. Go for the best training possible. If you can not afford  the best. Get what you can afford or start from what is accessible to you in your current situation. Get close to experienced people in the profession so that you can tap from their experiences. Be open to adopt new and better ways of doing things as you discover them. Keep practicing what you learnt. Practice regularly, possibly every week. Try every new thing you see or what you have not done before. Don't just assume that you can do it. You might just discover that the reality is different from your imagination. Look for and seize every opportunity to learn more. Go for more training to update your knowledge, practice more to become more proficient.  Keep abreast of  developments in the field. Get involve in programmes and events in the profession ---- attend seminars, workshops or clinics and exhibitions in the field. Strive for excellence.  Compare your works with others locally and internationally. Adopt better ways of doing things and adopt global best practice. Forge relationships with people in the profession in order to share knowledge and opportunities.
