Taking Charge Of Your Life When Of Age -- Your Mindset Determines Your Success

In an ideal situation, parents lay the foundation for the future greatness or otherwise of their off-springs depending on what they do or fail to do for their children.  If they do the right things, they provide a spring-board for their children to soar. Right things such as helping them  to acquire the productive resources that will set them on the path of constant achievements. Failure to do this, they set them on the path of perpetual struggle for survival, unless by some strokes of luck they make their way out of that miserable situation.
As an adult, it is time for you take charge of your life and your financial success using what resources you were given and what more you can acquire yourself.
Now, being fully conscious of what you have and what you need to acquire, you create your financial world by what you do or fail to do. You must identify or determine what is really necessary to move you forward in life and what will not, and take decisions accordingly.
The decision you take is a product of your mind-set.  Your mind- set is shaped by what you saw, heard or experienced in the past, as you were growing up. These
things form your beliefs. And your actions are based on what you believe at any point in time. Some of these beliefs  are actually at variant with your goals and aspirations. Those must be identified, challenge, discarded and be replaced by those that support your success. This process, in addition to any productive resources you have---- be it education, skill, talent, material or financial asset, is what determines your financial success.  The education, skill, talent, material and financial assets are just potentials for creating wealth, but what will enable you to tap these potentials fully is your mind- set. Possessing all these productive resources is not necessarily a guaranty that you will be wealthy or successful because you may possess them but then decide not to utilize them. You may utilize them but not fully because you may not be willing to do all it takes to maximize the use of those potentials. The motivation to use or not to use them is a product of the mind. Hence our minds need to be trained to be conscious of or recognize the things that support or do not support our success so that  we can take appropriate actions to make fuller use of our potentials.
To determine what action to take, you need to first of all define your goal. What is it you want to achieve? Then ask yourself: "If i take this action, will it take me closer or farther away from my goal"? Such consciousness helps us to take actions and cultivate useful habits that contribute to our success and happiness.
Our progress is often curtailed by our past programmings, believes and idiosyncrasies that were instilled in us by people and things that had powerful influence on us such as our parents, culture / tradition, specific incidents, authority figures like teachers, pastors, imams etc.  Some of these influences may not support our (financial) success today. But somehow, we tend to be uncontrollably shackled by them. And you feel like you don't have a choice in these things. However, the awareness of what supports or do not support your goal can help you to see that you have a choice.  Those believes in your head which were instilled in you and which now control your actions and make you to subconsciously act against your success is not you. They are other peoples thinking that do not support your goals and aspirations. You can choose in the present moments to act differently. You can take your destiny in your hands and soar. To be yourself, you need to make decisions based on facts and logic as a result of self awareness, not on the basis of past programming that often go at variant with you goals and success.
Granted, not all past influences are inimical to your success some of them have positive effect on your goals. The challenge is for you to learn how to sift through these myriads of influences, identify positive ones ( those that support your goals) stick to them, but discard and replace negative ones (those that do not support your goals) with positive ones. This process is the key to our ultimate success in life.
