Introduction

The relationship between training, work, income and ability to achieve a goal cannot be over emphasized. You put your skill (which you obtained through training) to work to generate income which you deploy to achieve goals. 

    Life is about achieving goals or solving problems. To be able to do this, we need training. When you are trained, you can then use the skill acquired  to work (i.e. to create value or to solve problems) and get rewarded for your effort. The rewards we get from our work in form of salaries or wages is what enables to satisfy our individual or family needs. These include basic needs such as food, shelter, clothing, medical care and education. It also enables us to acquire assets, develop ourselves further, and enjoy luxuries and entertainments. Good income contributes to a good standard of living. The more we can afford these things, the higher our standard of living. 

We can say that a successful living requires training, work, rewards and achievements.

                        
                JUSTIFY YOUR EXISTENCE BY PROVIDING SERVICE

No man is an island. We exist in communities.  In a community there are individual and community needs to be satisfied. No individual has all the knowledge or the capacity to satisfy all his needs. Therefore, we rely on one another to have our needs met,  So we are part of a team trying to proffer solutions to individual and societal problems. We all have our own parts to play to add value to society, to solve problems, to fill a gap and to make people feel good and secured. 
To become relevant you must be willing to  play your part in fulfilling these objectives. We all have something inside of us that we can use to do this. But these assets inside us, call it gift, talent or skill, are in raw forms. They need to be refined before we can use them effectively. We  do that through the process of "self development", also known as "training and enhancement". Self development comes through education, training and exposure. It is through this process that you acquire the productive resources you need to create value and solve problems. In other words through education and training you acquire the productive resources that empowers you to be able to provide service for which you can be rewarded. As you go through this process,  you are preparing yourself to play your part in adding value to yourself, your community, your nation and the world at large. And you will be rewarded for it. At the end, you are happy because you have something to give. That fact is acknowledged, that is why you are rewarded. Rewards come in various forms. Most often we get them in form of income which include salaries,wages, interests, royalties, commissions etc.
Others are awards, grants etc. We can also be rewarded in kind.
